Volunteer Crew Projects

Let’s play Capture the Flag! Join us for an afternoon of friendly competition and fun at Monument Park in Rockville, where we’ll enjoy a great game, great music and great company. We’ll play Capture the Flag from 12:00 – 1:30pm, then hang out at the park for a picnic (bring your own lunch). If there is inclement weather, we’ll meet at Main Street to watch a movie in Poppy Boy’s Kitchen. 

Special Note:

- We strongly recommend that people bring water bottles to refill. 

- Please dress appropriately for the event and weather. Athletic clothing is strongly recommended! 

Join us for Creativity Club! This club will meet on Saturdays in the Poppy Boy’s Kitchen and explore different creative mediums. Come prepared to let your creative juices flow.

In this program, members socialize with others through meaningful conversation at the Soulfull Cafe. They are encouraged to get out of their comfort zone with discussion prompts designed to foster connection among friends and people they’ve just met.

Special Note:

Volunteers for Food for Thought are asked to lead the group in a guided and interactive discussion on a topic of their choosing. Previous topics have included cultural traditions and celebrations, self-care, travel tips, healthy eating, and online safety. Volunteers should choose a topic that they know well. They should prepare 5-6 discussion questions with an interactive activity to go along with it. Staff will still be present at the program for support. When you register to volunteer, please send 2 topic ideas to Isabel, our Director of Programming. Her email is isabelg@mainstreetconnect.org.
